Who? All are welcome, married, single, young, elders, athletes, couch potatoes, we don't discriminate. We schedule events for every level from beginner to advanced.

Where? Central Florida is our main location with special trips outside of Florida during the year.

When? We have different adventure-based events scheduled every weekend, sometimes during the week depending on holidays or multi-day trips.

 Its a long story, but I thought of the idea one day while hiking on the Florida Trail during the fall of 2007. One night looking up at the stars, I thought there must be other people out there that would love to be outside enjoying the outdoors". I started researching adventure groups in the Tampa area on various websites and didn't come up with much at the time. A friend of mine mentioned a few, but nothing really existed and well one thing just led to another. I could have waited around until I found the perfect group or just give up on the idea all together, but I decided to make it happen and take the lead on creating a group.

 With that being said, here I am,  committed to bring you an honest and straightforward adventure group along with a lot of fun. My name is David, the Tampa Adventure Group founder and event facilitator. I have experienced hundreds of miles of hiking/backpacking trails, years of rock climbing, sailing the Gulf of Mexico solo, and attended some of America's best survival schools, and scuba diving in the worlds finest oceans and lakes. After moving to Florida and hiking 20+ trails, scuba diving natural springs the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico, fishing in the gulf, I realized that the state has a lot of offer those who enjoy outdoor activities. The Tampa Adventure Group was born in September of 2007.

 Here at the Tampa Adventure group believe that everyone should have the opportunity to get away from everyday work/city life and explore the outdoors, which is exactly what this group is all about. Its more than just a social group, its about meeting new friends, trying new activities, overcoming obstacles, and of course, exploring the great outdoors.

Tampa Adventure Group Events:
Most of our events are for ages 18+, of course parents can bring their family along as well. The Tampa Adventure Group also invites anyone of any status to include Single, Married, Widowed, etc. to join us in our events. Most of us are not athletes and don't train every day for athletic events, for the ones that do that's awesome, but don't expect fast paced hikes or speed kayaking across the bay. Our main purpose is to get outside and enjoy the outdoors.


RVSP Requirements/Policy:
We currently don't have any requirements for how many events or how often you attend Tampa Adventure Group events. It's really up to you and I realize everyone has a different schedule so how many events you attend or don't attend should never matter. The events will take place on schedule regardless of how many show. All I ask is to please remember to be honest with your RSVP status.

If you're not 100% sure you can make an event please choose "Maybe". If you choose "Yes" you are expected to be there and could possibly be taking up the spot of someone who can definitly make the event.

Those who always mark "Yes" and never show up to events will be noted and possibly removed from the group. Some of the events will be limited to a certain number of people such as kayaking or events that are reserved. Please give others the opportunity to participate in the Tampa Adventure Group events.

Security/Protection of Members:
I know it seems like common sense, but its good just to remind everyone once in a while. There is no need to panic, just a few friendly reminders that can help keep all of us smiling through the year.

1. Please do not include any personal information on your profile such as phone numbers, email address, home address, here on the website including in your Tampa Adventure Group profile. If you wish to reveal personal information in your profile, I am not liable for any actions brought upon you from other members or guests.

2. Do not respond to any emails from anyone saying they are a group leader or organizer. If I email you it will come from something @ tampaadventuregroup.com domain, if you have a question or feel that soemone may be impersinating me or another organizer please ask.

3. Please do not give out your full name, phone number, address, or other personal information in shouts, the message board, RSVP status's, or in emails to other members unless you know them or are bored and just have the wish for a ton of spam.

Membership Requirements/Responsibilities:
All Tampa Adventure Group members are required to simply respect others, have a good attitude , and have some fun.

Were not asking for perfection, but please don't come to an event ready to take out anger and frustrations on other group members which in the end just ruins the trip for everyone.

The Tampa Adventure Group tries to make it extremely easy to find our events with signs, text directions, and online maps. It is your responsibility to find the local event area and I will help you via phone or email if you have trouble.

You should study the online maps, directions, call, or email before you leave your house.

I will post my number for my events so everyone has a back up method in case you seem to get lost.


Group Accounts Names/Pictures:
We suggest group members to at least have their first name in their profile for all in the group to see. Full names are not needed and is up to you.

It makes it tough for other members to find someone named "MatrixGuy07" at one of our events.

Its up to you if you want to post a picture, but it does help other members identify you before and after events.


Group/Event Behavior:
I realize we are all adults and most don't like bringing this topic up, but it needs to be addressed. We assume all Tampa Adventure Group members are at a minimum mature, responsible, and respectful adults, but we all have our days.

If a member brings a problem to the group as a whole or other members of the group, I will deal with the problem quickly and fairly.

This a group for getting outdoors to have a good time, if its full of problems the purpose of the group no longer exists.

If anything or anyone makes you or any other member of the group uncomfortable for any reason, let me know immediately. That includes unwanted e-mails, phone calls, spamming, or letters or contact of ANY type.

Inappropriate behavior will NOT be tolerated and you will be removed from the group as well as reported to the proper authorities as needed.

Remember the majority of the group's members have joined to get outside and have fun in the great outdoors. They did not join to play matchmaker or find dates during each group event. Please show some class and respect the other members while attending events. A classy guy will get along much better than one with a bad attitude.

Please leave the group now if you are or have, an Email Spammers, players/pimps, dishonest, trouble maker, rude or bad attitudes, extreme activists, thieves, terrorists, or just dont want to be here.

Online Do's and Dont's:
Please submit pictures of past events for all to see. This not only gives everyone a chance to share with friends it also creates a great opportunity for potential members to see what the Tampa Adventure Group does.

Please play an active role in our message board and online polls if you have the chance. Your inputs help drive the group to better and more enjoyable events.

Please share the group to others that you would feel enjoy outdoor activities. Word of mouth goes a long way and is much more accepted than an email from an unknown website.

DO NOT on that not share the group's emails, phone numbers or any information with other websites, companies, telemarketers, etc. Doing this without the approval of the group organizer will get you removed. No one likes to be hassled.
